Allt breytist í lífi 15 ára veiðimannsins Leshka þegar hann hittir óvenjulega stúlku í tölvunni sem heillar hann upp úr skónum. Þetta ástand hetjunnar, að verða ástfanginn af fjarlægri ímynd, þokukenndum útlínum ókunnugs einstaklings, leiðir til þess að hann framkvæmir djörfustu athöfn lífs síns: að halda út í hættulega svaðilför yfir ólgusjó Beringssundsins inn í ókunnar lendur til þess að finna ástina sína.
